Shell’s Metamorphosis

Installation view at Brutus, Rotterdam, NL

To accompany the video work “I Want to Be a Shell,” this installation consists of a mobile sculpture made with shell-shaped items. With a turning movement synchronized to the video, the objects float and occasionally collide, but maintain their balance within the sculpture. The shadow of the shell swings around and falls onto the other shells placed on the mirrored sheet, creating a unified reflection behind them. These details are highlighted by an ironic karaoke song in the video, reminding us of the complex journey of the shell.
