Acrylic paint on both the front and back of Hagiwara’s grandmother’s hand-fan.
Kitsch-designed tulips and cherry blossoms (sakura) were painted on both the front and back of Hagiwara’s grandmother’s hand fan. Placed on a rotating turntable, the two flowers, both artificially bred national symbols, are revealed one after the other.
